Perhaps you have heard the expression, “It was low hanging fruit”. The idea is that whatever we were pursuing, we began with the easy stuff first. However as it relates to the fruit of the spirit, Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control, this is not low hanging fruit. In fact we must reach high to get this kind of fruit. It doesn’t happen because we try hard or we want it to happen. The fruit of the spirit is reachable only when we submit to the Holy Spirit.
