During a time of self discovery, I felt the hand of the Lord on my heart and I knew this was the place I was meant to be.
A nurse for nearly 30 years in NY and NJ, my husband Dan and I retired to the Myrtle Beach, SC area in 2000, which is where we spent the first 3 days of our honeymoon!
As a Registered Professional Nurse with Certification in a number of specialties including home care, I was afforded the opportunity of working closely with various Social Service Agencies in NY andNJ.
A lifelong Christian, I was ordained as a Presbyterian deacon in 1990 and, after relocating to SC, elected to become ordained as a non-denominational minister.
I direct an outreach ministry in an alternative setting, providing spiritual care to a congregation of more than 500 people from around the world via the Internet. As part of this outreach, I write a daily faith based blog (http://mandyspath.wordpress.com).
My husband Dan is a Guardian ad Litem, which is a volunteer advocate for children who are either in Foster Care or remain in the home under the supervision of DSS. Guardians speak for children during legal proceedings. Seeing his love for this calling was the catalyst that prompted my decision to join the Heroes for Children Board which is the non profit group that raises funds to train new Guardians.
